We all know the saying: Pride comes before the fall! And for my fellow literature buddies… Shakespeare himself uses it as a vital lesson in many of his Tragedy plays! However it’s not just a random saying… it’s The Word of God Himself! (Proverbs 16:18)
My friends and I are always saying: Humble yourself before God does it for you! To have a husband who is full of pride is a big no no! Being full of pride is mostly associated with a lack of something somewhere else in their psyche… or where there is a feeling of intimidation somewhere and then excessive pride takes over and supersedes their ability to make reasonable decisions.
Their priority with showing off and doing things just for the sake of getting a reaction of awe from others can be detrimental to your marriage. If you find yourself in this situation… ask God to strip away every ounce of pride within him…. it may be drastic: King Nebuchadnezzar style… but whatever works and gets the message through to him… let him go through the process.
The same goes for those not yet married. Pray into your future husband’s life – wherever he may be. Ask God for the spirit of pride to be far removed from him and for God’s spirit of humility to rest upon him like a cloak … pray also that where he may be humble now… let it continue throughout his life, no matter what circumstances he faces…. may pride never creep in at any stage of his life.
NO ONE WANTS A HUSBAND THAT THEY HAVE TO KEEP APOLOGISING FOR HIS ACTIONS BECAUSE OF HIS PRIDE!
Let’s get it right!
Can I get an Amen?!
