Waiting! It can be the most frustrating and testing thing in life that we all have to endure. I have been in this situation so many times in the past… and now that we’re almost at the end of September – it feels like the year is running on ahead of us before all of those promises we’ve been trusting God for since the beginning of the year will have a chance to come to pass…
I remember feeling that way during The Wait between God’s first promise to me regarding Mr B in 2010 and our eventual wedding in 2013!
But God said NO. That I should wait… and be patient… and that I should have a heart of thanking and one of complete trust and praise Him during my Wait… It’s so far from easy to do but it’s what He wants of us.
And it was the same again when I was waiting so desperately to get pregnant after the wedding and have a baby! You hear SO many stories of women who get pregnant straight away and you start to wonder what’s wrong with me????
Even though God had promised me these things … the WAITING was almost too much to bear.
But time and time again, God always shows Himself victorious at His PERFECT time.
Today, I felt lead to write this blog post because I want to encourage others, as well as to encourage myself as I find myself in a waiting room again.
I still have friends who are in their Waiting Rooms and it pains me. I hate that sometimes when people try to encourage you it can almost become to seem like a cliche (God will do it… just keep trusting Him… in due time my dear we will rejoice with you…)
As great as all these things are – we can’t deny that sometimes… they just don’t cut it!
And what even makes it worse sometimes is when you’re in The Waiting Room and you have to watch other people (who even joined after you… being called up first!)
And this is a big BUT!!!
IF it’s how God wants it… then trust that it is this way because it’s The Ultimate Best for you!!!
I’m preaching to myself here also, as I find myself in another Waiting Room of life again. As you know if you follow my blog, I moved back into my mum’s house just before Prince Josiah was born so I wouldn’t be alone with a new born – as Mr B had just taken up a new job outside London. We are so blessed to have family to rely on in this way who welcomed us back into the home with open arms.
It’s been lovely being back at home and feeling like one of the gang again… but the truth is: Girl! You need your own space when you’re a wife with a husband and a kid! Lol! It can be frustrating not having your own space again at times. So we’re trusting God to bring the right house our way so we don’t end up buying the wrong one just for the sake of moving out – and for Him to make a way regarding the entire process.
For me… He’s sent God sent friends my way to encourage me and to remind me of just how Good God is… and He’s blessed me with a hubby who is so patient and understanding. And that’s all it takes sometimes – just a reminder of HOW GOOD GOD IS! Let’s never forget that.
Let’s never forget that in the midst of it all… it’s NOT about us or our situation or what we’re going through… it’s about Him!
When people hear or read my marriage or pregnancy testimony – they don’t say: Wow! Mrs B! You’re Amazing!
It’s always: Wow! Look at what God did! Isn’t He AWESOME!?!?
The Glory all belongs to Him!
So as I sit here in my waiting room… I’m going to remind myself of all the great and awesome things God has done for me and for others and in His Word.
Never forget to draw inspiration from His Word – because it’s the bread of life and it will sustain You during every season.
Sometimes for something great to happen … the process that leads to it is not easy at all – but it takes a lot of faith, hope, the spirit of love, and obedience to God, to pull you through it – especially constantly feeding on His Word – even if you don’t really understand what you’re reading or the purpose of it – there’s just something spiritual about taking His Word into Your soul that does something good for it. That I learnt when God sent an angel to feed me bread just before I found out Mr B had asked for my hand in marriage and my father had said no! Trust me! I needed ALL of God’s Word when I found out! Lol!
Before I sign off… I’d just like to explain something that really struck me as I was going through the children’s Bible app with my son the other day. I had to take a screen shot of it:
In this picture, Abraham and Sarah are rejoicing because she finally became pregnant. A couple of scenes before this, the story explained how God had promised Abraham that Sarah would get pregnant and that he would be a father. We all know the story… but seeing it in a children’s Bible Story App REALLY brought it to life for me! Lol!
The scene in the picture above happened TWENTY YEARS after when the initial promise was made!
It truly made me think!
TWENTY YEARS!!! Is NOT a joke!!!
But God still did it for them – just as He said He would! And just look at all of the Jewish people in the world today… they came from that promise!
Now how much more awesome is it to know that as believers of Christ – we too are grafted into the joys and benefits of that promise too!
As for me… I will await my breakthrough with a heart of thanksgiving and joy. It’s a time of preparation and it’s best to learn all the lessons God wants to teach us now as He prepares us for where He’s taking us to.
MI’m not going to lie and pretend that I won’t cry sometimes or that I won’t feel down and feel like I don’t want to talk to anyone or get out of bed at times… because I’m only human lol… but…
I do promise to make a conscious effort to fix my eyes on Christ during My Wait and to think about all of the glory that it’s going to bring Him … because He deserves IT All!
“I wait [patiently] for the LORD, my soul [expectantly] waits, And in His word do I hope.” (PSALM 130:5)
Can I get an Amen!?
I’ll leave you with this message from Gloria Copeland that really encouraged me – especially the house part lol:
Nothing Intimidates God
by Gloria Copeland
“We have the same spirit of faith.”
2 Corinthians 4:13, New King James Version
No matter what difficult situation you may be facing today, God can turn it around! The doctors may have told you there’s no hope. Your bank account may be empty and the creditors knocking on the door. There may be trouble in your family or on your job. You may have a loved one headed for prison.
Your problems may be stacked so high, you feel like you can never overcome them. But don’t let the devil fool you. He has never devised a problem that faith in God can’t fix! Nothing intimidates God.
It’s just as easy for God to heal cancer as it is for Him to heal a headache. It’s as easy for Him to buy you a new home as it is for Him to pay your rent.
Think about that! If you’ll dare to believe God’s Word, you can have light in the midst of a dark world. You can have protection in the midst of a dangerous world. You can live healed in the midst of a sick world. You can live prosperously in the midst of an impoverished world. You can live free in the midst of a captive world.
But you can’t do it by dragging around in an attitude of defeat.
If you want to walk in constant victory, you must develop a spirit of faith and persevere when the devil is putting pressure on you.
Faith believes God’s Word just because God said it—whether natural circumstances seem to agree or not. That means if you want to maintain a spirit of faith in the area of healing, you must start by getting your Bible and finding out what God has said about healing. Then you must choose to receive that Word as the truth. Then say it! Say, “The Word says healing belongs to me and I believe it!” Keep putting the Word in your heart day after day until faith rises up within you and your body begins to line up with that Word.
People with the spirit of faith always receive the blessings of God. They may go through tests and trials, but they come out victorious every time.
I like those odds, don’t you? I like to beat the devil every time. And, glory to God, we can do it if we’ll walk continually in the spirit of faith.
Keep faith stirred up. Get your expectancy up and out there ahead of where you are now. Dare to believe God. It won’t shake Him up! Nothing intimidates Him!
Speak the Word:
“I have the spirit of faith!”
—2 Corinthians 4:13
Hope it blessed you lovelies.
Faith, Hope & Love,
Mrs B xx
